PsyCap - Fred Luthans

Picture
Psychological Capital (PsyCap) is a higher order concept made up of four constructs that contribute to viewing the world through a positive lens. These constructs are hope, efficacy (confidence), resiliency and optimism (HERO).  Fred Luthans, one of the originators of this theory, is interviewed in the brief video I selected for a bite-sized PsyCap TED ED lesson.

PsyCap - Bruce Avolio

In this interview Bruce Avolio, another member of the research team that developed PsyCap, discusses the term 'capital' and tells us how his team arrived at the 4 dimensions of PsyCap.

    PsyCap and Strengths Reflection

If you have not yet completed the VIA survey visit the website below: https://www.viacharacter.org/survey/account/register Once you complete the survey you will be given your character strengths in order from 1 (your top strength) to 24 (your least dominant strength).
For example, if you have a high PsyCap score, do you notice that 'hope' and 'perseverance' are also high in your VIA strengths list?
